Common questions

How is the drop height decided?

By packing group. Packing Group I drops from 1.8 m, Group II from 1.2 m, Group III from 0.8 m, per 49 CFR 178.603.

How many samples do you need?

Six complete packaged samples for a standard solids sequence, assembled exactly as they will ship. We confirm the exact count with you before you send anything.

Do I need to send the actual hazardous material?

Usually not. Testing is normally run with a surrogate of equivalent properties. Confirm the surrogate with the engineer before shipping, and send the SDS either way.

Not certain UN/DOT Performance Test - Solids is the right test?

Answer a few questions about what you ship and we will tell you which standard applies — and why the others do not.
