You probably need this if
You ship a regulated liquid - solvent, corrosive, flammable - in drums, pails, jerricans or bottles
You are qualifying a new closure, liner or container supplier
Your certification is due for re-test
What the test involves
The sequence we run for UN/DOT Performance Test - Liquids. Exact parameters are confirmed against the current revision of the standard before testing begins.

What to send us
9 complete packaged samples, assembled exactly as they ship.
Design drawings or a packaging specification, if you have them.
The Safety Data Sheet — required before regulated testing can begin.
Ship to 9708 Industrial Drive, Bridgeview, Illinois 60455.
Not sure the count is right for your configuration? We confirm it with you before you ship anything.
This certification expires
UN/DOT Performance Test - Liquids is normally re-tested every 24 months, and sooner if the packaging changes. We keep track of when your testing comes due and tell you before it lapses — you should not find out from a rejected shipment.
Common questions
Why does this cost more than the solids sequence?
It is a longer battery. Liquids add leakproofness (49 CFR 178.604) and hydrostatic pressure (178.605) on top of drop, stacking and vibration.
Does relative density change the test?
Yes. Drop height for liquids depends on the relative density of the contents as well as the packing group, so we confirm it against 49 CFR 178.603(e) before we run.
Not certain UN/DOT Performance Test - Liquids is the right test?
Answer a few questions about what you ship and we will tell you which standard applies — and why the others do not.
