Common questions

Is there a packing group for lithium batteries?

No. UN3480 and UN3481 are Class 9 and are assigned no packing group. 49 CFR 173.185 prescribes a 1.2 m drop height regardless.

Can you test a full battery crate?

Yes - large-format enclosures and EV battery crates are routine work here.

Not certain Lithium Battery Packaging Test is the right test?

Answer a few questions about what you ship and we will tell you which standard applies — and why the others do not.
